Mason Park: Creator of Memories

Thesis:

Houston may have a lot of different parks but each of them have their own unique personalities and Mason Park is one in the category that contains many activities available for every age group either for them to observe the trees and bayou; have enjoyment with celebrations, exercise, and the playground; or even create roots from their own personal experiences they shared with Mason Park.

Body Paragraph:

Parks may be manmade but they do contain their own personal attributes that make them resemble nature itself for people to distinguish. Trees are the one aspect that comes from nature but the trees in Mason Park that makes them unique is Spanish moss that hangs down from the branches like locks of hair. It is consisted of a faint color green that really does not scream to me as I walk by, but it does create an effect to make the trees seem more elegant as the wind blows on it making the trees hair sway back and forth. The other trees beside them that do not contain Spanish moss for instance the pine trees may have envy toward the other trees not noticing what makes themselves unique like their prickly exterior and the ability to create pine conesas if they were babies, which drop down for me and other people to pick up and study their creation. In addition to trees, Mason Park also contains the Brays Bayou that gives company and life to sustain the foliage in the park. Brays Bayou might not be the most beautiful Bayou but it runs like a river to the ocean bringing sea life to you and fish are one of them. They usually do not come out however once I see them jump in the air to get a breath of fresh air and sun; it makes me admire their jumping abilities as if the just come out for you and no one else to greet you with a quick "Hello". Mason park might have these attributes nevertheless it does contain trails that stretch all over the park as cement snakes that like to be walked on to help me get around the park to examine and take in all its beauty.

  1. I really liked how much detail you put into describing your place. You took a common place, a park, and explained how it is special. The language you used explains how beautiful the park is to you.
