More than a Restaurant

Thesis: Taqueria Arandas attracts more than the typical Mexican clientele of Houston because of its variety of Hispanic music, it's homemade Tex-Mex dishes, and the at home feeling you get while being there.
Body Paragraph: Also, Arandas has a large menu that can satisfy many different food eaters. They have four sections to their menu's; salads, soups, specials, and weekend only dishes. So, even if you are not the biggest Mexican food fan, there are soups and salads on the menu for you as well. Even though Arandas offers other dishes besides Mexican food, I recommend that you get one of their specials because their food really is something worth tasting. As soon as I walk in I can smell the hypnotizing smell coming from the kitchen, and I get a flashback from tirelessly helping my grandma make fresh tortillas early Saturday mornings and I get a small sense of home.

  1. I know what you mean when you say this place is like home. They make all types of delicious food that remind you of your mother's cooking. I like how you include your own personal memories and recommendations because it makes me really believe your credibility.

  2. Good figurative description of the smells and nice incorporation of your past!

    Perhaps a bit more description on the dishes to help me feel like I'm about to eat a torta!

  4. Carly;

    I liek that you picked this restaurant because it really does have delicious food (I love the chips with the mexican sauce) and people should truly visit it for an enjoyable meal. I like how you described your sense of smell, maybe you should try giving more detail as to what the dishes consist of so the reader can grow a bigger desire to actually go try it out.
    Good job :)

  5. I like your thesis and the introduction of your body paragraph, because you try to appeal to everyone (vegetarians, non-hispanics). Good job adding descriptive words when describing the smell. This post makes me want to get some food here.

  6. Like stated before I did your peer review,
    I love this! You make the restuarant sound so homely. I love how you use your senses to identify with being in Mexico.
    Well done!
