The Religious Center: Just Another Building, I Think Not.

Thesis: To you the religious center might be a place to go to church, worship with friends, hang out, or it could just be another building you walk by everyday and not think twice about it; But for me, its so much more.
Body: As you walk in to the religious center you get this feeling of acceptance, and just an overall welcoming. The first thing you might notice is the white pillars, or even the wooden altar, but for me the first thing I noticed was the windows. Unlike the church I grew up going to, the religious ceter didn't have stained glass windows. Instead it has these marvelous windows that seem to gather all the natural lighting left, and cast it in upon the bluish marble floor. The Religious center has pews, just like any church does, but it is missing a cross behind the altar. What some might identify right away is the kneeling pads, the type the Catholics use while praying. But in finding something familiar you just might miss the fact that the Bible/Hymnal holders aren't there. While the religious center might rely on natural lighting, it does have these beautiful chandeliers that help light the room at night, or even on a gloomy day.

  2. I like how you explained the significance of the church to you because I've walked past it many times and never noticed the amount of detail you used to describe it. The way you explained the lighting and the windows really helped me to visualize the setting in the church. After reading your thoughts about the place, I would like to also visit to share the peaceful experience that you get from being there.
